Primrose School, Pondicherry celebrated its Annual Sports Day – Urjja -2020, with a joyous atmosphere and great fun and frolic. The event was made memorable by the presence of Lt. Governor of Puducherry, Kiran Bedi as the Chief Guest. In her keynote address, Dr.Kiran Bedi said that education of a child begins at birth and raising a child as a self-learner is the best thing that parents can do for their children.
During the program Primrose School was honoured to receive an award for its unique teaching and learning methods by The Leading Schools of India, New Delhi. The Award was presented by Dr. Kiran Bedi and Mrs.Sabina.A.Sehgal, the Country Head of Leading Schools of India. The Glenn Doman Method for early childhood learning which is being used effectively at Primrose makes the school one of the outstanding schools in India. Primrose is now listed among the leading changemaker schools in India now.
In his welcome address, Mr.Garry Jacobs, the Vice President of the Mother’s Service Society, briefly recalled the various social and educational research activities MSS has undertaken since its founding in 1970 and its extension from India to the international sphere through collaboration with the World Academy of Art & Science (USA) and the World University Consortium. He emphasized that MSS considers its efforts to promote advanced methods for school education through Primrose and collaboration with other institutions in India its most important contribution yet to the country and the future of education globally.
The special guest and speaker of the day was Dr.Elayaraja.D, Physical Education Department, University of Pondicherry. Mrs.Vidya Rangan, the Academic Director, Mr.Ashok Natarajan, the Secretary of the MSS, Mrs.Jareena Begum, Admin Principal and Mrs.Gayathri.M, Academic Principal also spoke at the event.
